Thousands of protesters under the aegis of the #IStandWithNigeria group, have gathered in Abuja and Lagos to protest what they call “unfavourable government policies”, causing serious hardship.
One of the leaders and Co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign (BBOG), says the protest is to express the anger of the people and the hardship being faced by Nigerians.
The protest is also set to take place simultaneously in Enugu and Port Harcourt, among other major cities in the country.
Groups have insisted on going ahead with the protest despite the fact that Tuface Idibia, who started the movement, decided to call it off after alleged security reports.
