The practice of celebrities welcoming babies outside the confines of marriage is not a new phenomenon in entertainment circles across the world.

Many Nigerian celebrities, who many youth regard as role models, are choosing to go the single parenthood route and proudly so. Not only are they rewriting the narrative, they proudly flaunt their children on social media.
In this light, a list of top 15 Nigerian musicians who are baby daddies has been revealed.
(1) 2Baba
One of Nigeria’s living music legends, Innocent Idibia, who recently rebranded to 2baba, tops our list of Nigerian celebrities who are baby daddies. Although he is legally married to actress Annie Macaulay, not a few will forget the women and children in his life in a hurry. Annie bore him two daughters, while Pero Adeniyi and Sunmbo Ajaba also bore him kids. Per, based in the United States, has three children for the singer just as Sunmbo who married Pastor Olatunde Adeoye of Royalty Christian Centre, Lagos in 2013, also bore him two sons.
(2) Flavour N’abania
Born Chinedu Okoli, he is clearly the biggest music export from the eastern part of Nigerian. Famed for his music exploits within and outside the shores of Nigeria, his on-again-off-again relationships with two ex-beauty queens, Anna Banner and Okagbue, is legendary. Interestingly both women who have a daughter each for the afro-pop star do not see eye to eye. In a recent tell-it-all interview with an online portal, Banner revealed that she has parted ways with Flavour. She also denied having prior knowledge of the singer’s affair with Sandra before birthing a baby for him.

At 26, superstar singer, Wizkid, has attained enviable heights in his career. From his humble beginnings hustling on the streets of Ojuelegba, Lagos, he now shares the international stage with international icons, Chris Brown and Rihanna. Nonetheless, one area this talented musician isn’t lagging behind is romance. A father-of-two, he welcomed a son, Boluwatife, with his then teenage girlfriend, Oluwanishola Ogudugu, five years ago when he was just 21. Early this year, a U.S.-based Guinean, Binta Diamond Diallo, was delivered of a son for the singer. Interestingly his second son who bears a striking resemblance with the boyish-looking singer was named Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Jr after him.
(4) Kay Switch
Singer, Kehinde Oladotun Oyebanjo is popularly known by his stage name, ‘Kayswitch D’Produkt. Also D’banj’s younger brother, he occupies the number four position on our list. He welcomed a daughter with his Liberian girlfriend, Meenakshi Monica Subramani, in 2014. He named her Kalyami ‘Rain’ Oluwaseunara. A few months after her birth, the pair was enmeshed in a controversy after a popular blogger alleged that he locked her out of his Lekki home when she demanded to see their seven month old. The singer debunked the claims by posting an image of his girlfriend cradling their daughter. Very little or nothing has been heard about the couple ever since.olamide

Fondly called ‘Baddo’, Olamide Adedeji aka Olamide joined the growing list of Nigerian celebrity daddies when his long-term girlfriend, Aisha Suleiman, bore him a son in 2015. A crowd-puller, Olamide pulled out all the stops when he staged a grand naming ceremony for his son. The well-attended ceremony was graced by the then Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola. Although the singer was rumoured as having welcomed a second child recently, he has yet to make an official statement. The pair held a low-key secret introduction two years ago and is yet to make it official.

Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele aka Oritsefemi’s claim to fame was the release of his re-make of Fela Kuti’s ‘Double Wahala’ song in 2013.The Ajegunle-bred singer, who started his career as a member of a two-man band, The Junglist, has a fiancé and has two daughter who are between 12 and 11 years with two different women.
Not a stranger to controversy, when he parted ways with Blessing Rawa, his lover of five years, it made tabloid headlines. Although Oritsefemi has hinted that he has no plans to
marry any of the mothers of his daughters, he piqued the curiosity of fans early this year, when he posted a picture of his mixed raced model, Maureen Marie-France Mallet, on Instagram.

The saying that the more eccentric the artist, the more talented holds true as far as singer cum producer, Terry G, is concerned.
A native of Benue State, the 30-year-old singer, real name Gabriel Amanyi, is a proud single dad. His girlfriend, Mimi Omoregbe, birthed a son in 2012. Despite repeated pressure from fans for him to tie the knot, Terry G appears to be taking things easy.

One of the greatest lyricists that Nigeria has ever known, Abolore Akande aka 9ice is also a strong contender on our list. Previously married to Toni Payne, the union, which produced a son, Zion, fell apart like a stack of badly packed cards in 2010. The 36-year-old singer who attributed the loss of his voice on the absence of “good equipment” in the country has since gone on to bring forth four kids from three baby mamas. As it stands, it’s unclear if he has secretly tied the knots with the mother of his fourth child, Olasunkanmi Ajala, who he currently lives with. The singer had also welcomed twin daughters from a short-lived romance with Abuja based Vicky Godis, a sibling of popular OAP, Oreka Godis.

Talented Nigerian singer cum dancer, Mayokun Awodumila aka May D, broke into the Nigerian music scene via P-Square’s ‘Square Records’. A father-of-one, Olamipoju, given birth to by his then girlfriend, Debola, in 2013. The pair had a messy breakup in 2015 and it was well documented in the media. Debola accused the talented singer of alleged domestic violence. A few weeks after, May D began flaunting his relationship with Swedish Carolina Wassmuth on social media.
(10) Ice Prince
A lover of exotic rides, top rapper, Pansak Zamani aka Ice Prince, is a father to a handsome son, Jamal. The singer welcomed his son with his then 20-year-old baby-mama, Bimbo Babatunde, in 2012. Extremely private about his young son, Ice Prince, is currently neck-deep in a relationship with a French-Ghanaian, Maima Nkewa.
(11) Seun Kuti
Seun, the son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, is also not left out in the trend. He bore a daughter, Ifafunmike, with his dancer-turned-girlfriend, Yetunde Ademiluyi, in 2013. Exactly two days after reports emerged that Wizkid had a second child, Seun was alleged as having fathered another baby with a mystery lady named Adaeze. Seun has since debunked the claims and chose the silent route.
(12) Timaya
Dancehall act, Enetimi Alfred Odom aka Timaya, became a dad when his girlfriend Barbara bore him a daughter in 2012. The pair also welcomed a second child together, a girl, in 2015.
(13) Davido
In his very eventful career, Davido has been romantically linked to some of the finest women in the land. He welcomed a daughter, with Sophie Momodu, who is the cousin of media mogul, Dele Momodu, in 2015. A highly controversial pair, their short-lived affair was laced with accusations and counter accusations that bother around infidelity and drug abuse. Speaking in an interview in Lagos, Davido remarked that he doesn’t think he is ready for a relationship at the moment.

Popular singer, SolidStar, real names Joshua Iniyezo, is one of the latest entrants into the growing list of Nigerian celebrity baby daddies. The dreadlocks-spotting singer recently welcomed a child with a mystery UK-based lover. He recently squashed paternity rumours by posting a copy of his baby’s DNA test result on Instagram, which confirmed him as the father.
(15) D’Prince
Mavins Records’ act, D’Prince, and his Cameroonian girlfriend, Inorie Fotso, welcomed a son in 2015, three years after they began dating. The 26-year-old singer confirmed the birth of his son with an Instagram post which read, “There comes a time when a boy has to become a MAN. The love of my life just gave me a bouncing baby boy. To God be the glory. Now I feel my life has a purpose. To live for my boy.”
