A heartless father has done the unthinkable in revenge after ambushing his daughter and wife before blasting them to death.
Lance Hart brutally murdered his daughter and wife
This painful story of a heartless father who shot dead his wife and daughter over marital issues, has left many in tears especially the dying words of the man’s innocent daughter.
According to Dailymail, the man who was known for bullying before he shot his wife and daughter wrote ‘karma is a b***h’. He had ambushed them outside a leisure centre when she left him after 26 years, an inquest heard today.
The man identified as Lance Hart, 57, also penned a 12-page suicide note before he blasted his wife Claire, 50, and their 19-year-old daughter, Charlotte before turning the shotgun on himself in Spalding on July 19.
On July 14, Mrs Hart had packed her bags and walked out on the marriage because she’d ‘had enough’ of her ‘selfish’ husband, who spent the next five days plotting murder.
As he ate a ‘last supper’ of paella and wine in his garden on the night before the shootings he wrote: ‘Revenge is a dish best served cold’.
The killer also said his three children were ‘conspiring’ against him and would murder his estranged wife and only daughter to spite them and his surviving sons Ryan, 25, and Luke, 26.
In a message to his family he wrote: ‘You completely destroyed my life without giving me a chance so I will destroy yours.’
He added: ‘Karma is coming, Karma is a b***h, now you all lose’.
So on the day of murder, Hart who knew his wife and daughter had gone for swimming readied himself and ambushed them at the leisure centre’s car park in Spalding, Lincolnshire before gunning them down.
The manager found Claire and her estranged husband dead but Charlotte was still alive and she used her final words to say: ‘It was my dad who shot me’.
Today coroner, Paul Cooper described Hart as a ‘cold, calculated and scheming man’ at an inquest into their deaths.
Boston. Coroner’s Court heard the killer was a ‘bully’ and had planned the murders in detail.
The coroner revealed he had a single barrel shotgun so had to repeatedly load it as he killed his own family. Mr Cooper concluded that mother and daughter were unlawfully killed and Hart’s death was suicide.
He said: ‘He knew exactly what he was going to do. It was a single barrel shotgun, so it was not a question of him just shooting his wife, he then had to unload it, put another cartridge in and shoot it again.
‘In my view, this was a cold, calculated, scheming man who went out and deliberately murdered his wife and daughter.
‘If he had lived… he would have been charged with murder, unfortunately he didn’t live to face the consequences of his actions. He took his own life.’
The inquest heard how police found a 12-page document Hart left which blamed his children for his actions on the morning of July 19.
Killed mother and daughter
It was on a USB stick found in his car labelled ‘To whom it may concern’.
On it, Hart said he felt as if his family had been in a car crash and he wanted revenge. He blamed his children for making matters worse between him and his wife.
He said: ‘I have just had my favourite meal, paella, and I’m sitting in the sun with a glass of red wine.
‘Karma is coming, Karma is a b***h, now you all lose’. In a message to one son he said: ‘You know what you have done … You got what you wished for.’
The court heard evidence from the police that Lance had been adding to the statement over a number of weeks before the shooting.
One of the last entries spoke of him enjoying his last meal, his favourite meal, paella, with some wine in the summer sun.
He continued: ‘I know my mind is screwed, I’m completely screwed, right or wrong I had to do it’. He also said ‘I love you all, I always have, always will.’
Before signing off: ‘Revenge is a dish best served cold, karma is a b***h.’
Charlotte suffered fatal shotgun wounds to her chest and abdomen and was identified by one of her two brothers, Ryan, 25, and Luke, 26, both engineers.
The body of shop assistant Claire was identified by comparison with a photograph.
The killings happened just days after Mrs Hart told her husband their 26-year marriage was over and she was leaving him.
